A Bold and Beautiful Styled Shoot at Tapestry Hall
I’m so excited to finally share all the stunning details from this styled wedding shoot at Tapestry Hall, and even more thrilled that it was featured over on Today's Bride! This editorial was a dream to be part of — a creative, collaborative day filled with bold colours, modern design elements, and so many talented vendors coming together to make magic happen.
Two unique shoots took place on the same day in this industrial wedding venue, and we were each given the choice between a light, airy aesthetic or a moodier, more dramatic look. I chose the dark side — a little outside of my usual romantic, timeless palette — but I was instantly drawn to the idea of creating a black wedding cake. It felt fresh, chic, and perfectly suited to the industrial setting of Tapestry Hall.
A Modern Industrial Space Transformed with Bold Florals
One of the most striking elements of this styled shoot was the vibrant, colourful florals. The arrangements featured lush reds, deep burgundies, rich oranges, bright pinks, and pops of purple. These bold blooms breathed life and romance into the industrial space, proving that you can absolutely soften a raw, modern venue with the right floral design.
The tablescape was equally breathtaking, with a mix of gold geometric decor, taper candles, and crystal glassware. It was the perfect blend of edgy and elegant, adding warmth and personality to the contemporary setting. The floral designs and textured greenery gave the space a whimsical, organic feel against the brick walls and exposed beams of Tapestry Hall.
The Black Wedding Cake and Geometric Details
For my part, I designed a black wedding cake that echoed the gold geometric inspiration running through the shoot. The original mood board included images of modern hexagon patterns and metallic accents, which led me to incorporate a delicate gold trim and subtle hexagon texture on the cake tiers. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Fancy That Cake creation without my signature sugar flowers — handcrafted blooms that mirrored the fresh florals perfectly. The result was a bold, modern cake design that balanced drama with timeless romance, fitting right in with the other beautifully styled details.
Stationery and Styling That Tied It All Together
The geometric theme carried through the rest of the wedding details as well. Red Bicycle Paper Co. created a stunning modern wedding invitation suite featuring hexagon shapes and a rich palette of burgundy, gold, and ivory. The stationery was displayed alongside vintage-inspired scissors, luxe velvet ring boxes, and fresh blooms for the flat lay. This thoughtful styling made every detail feel cohesive and intentional, perfectly capturing the vision behind this modern industrial wedding inspiration.
A Gorgeous Couple and an Unforgettable Moment
Of course, no styled wedding shoot would be complete without a radiant couple. The real-life couple brought so much love and joy to the day, sharing sweet, authentic moments that made the entire editorial feel natural and heartfelt. The bold, colorful bridal bouquet they carried was a work of art on its own — overflowing with vibrant blooms and textural greenery.
A Day of Creative Collaboration
This styled shoot was an incredible reminder of what happens when creative vendors come together with a shared vision. From the industrial venue at Tapestry Hall to the black wedding cake with gold details, the lush florals, and modern paper goods — every element worked in harmony to create something truly special.
I feel so honored to have been part of this beautiful day, and even more excited that it was featured on Today's Bride. Be sure to head over there to see the rest of the gallery and get even more wedding inspiration for your own bold, modern celebration!
